Nick Cushing is the leading candidate to become Arsenal Women’s next head coach.

The Englishman has been identified as a possible replacement for Jonas Eidevall, who quit earlier this month after a poor start to the season.

No talks have taken place as Cushing’s current club New York City FC are in the MLS playoffs, with the final taking place on December 7.

Arsenal are in no hurry as they have full faith in interim coach Renee Slegers and there are international breaks both this month and in November.

Cushing isn’t the only option Arsenal have but the willingness to wait suggest he’s their No.1 target. The English manager coached rivals Man City to the WSL title in 2016.
